| The Holly Grove Christian School Honors Choir is an auditioned choir made up of 61 singers from grades 9-12. They have performed and ministered in music throughout the Eastern Shore, across the state of Maryland, and in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia. |
The Honors Choir has:
- been the back-up Choir for Michael W. Smith “Hallelujah Tour” Salisbury, Maryland (internationally known contemporary Christian Artist)
- given a “moving” concert at Ground Zero
- Invited by audition to give a concert at the National Cathedral (will occur next May)
- Will be singing at the U.S. Naval Academy in May
- performed (by audition) at Camden Yards for the Baltimore VS Boston Red Sox
- been invited (by audition) to sing for the New York Yankees in New York,
- performed for the Washington Wizards Vs. Philadelphia 76’ers at the MCI center.
- opened at the Regional Convention in Washington, DC for the ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), chosen from schools in a 12 state area.
- won first place and $4,000 for the Mountaire Farms Regional School Talent Search in Delaware.
- Superior ratings (multiple years) in performance and sight-reading ESCDA Regional Choral Festival for public and private schools
- Participated at the Maryland State Choral Festival at Morgan State University multiple times
- Choir invited to sing during intermission at Sight and Sound Theater, Lancaster, PA
- completed a Missions project at the Tennessee Orphanage for Teens.
- given music assemblies and/or chapel services in schools in Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
- performed in the MAGI Choral Festival to raise money for the homeless and less fortunate of our region (over one million dollars raised in 15 years by this annual concert).
- Broadcast Annual Christmas Program by television in over 400,000 homes past nine years
- received wild standing ovation for musical chapel service at Valley Forge Seminary by faculty and student body
- Participate in annual concert to raise money for Samaritan Shelter in Pocomoke City, MD
- been awarded 1st Place in the Pocomoke Christmas Parade
- been awarded 1st Place in the Crisfield Christmas Parade and received the Grand Marshal’s Choice Award
- been awarded 1st Place Six Flags Jackson, New Jersey, SATB division
- been awarded best overall Choir at Six Flags Jackson, New Jersey, Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Hershey Park, Hershey, Pennsylvania
- performed for Memorial Services at ECI (Eastern Correctional Institute)for employees
- performed in many of the churches throughout the Delmarva Peninsula.
- been invited to assist many community organizations raise financial support
